International Workshop “ERA.Net RUS: State of implementation and future activities with Russia” with the participation of funding parties, project partners and Joint Call Secretariat of the programme ERA.Net RUS was held on July 11-12, 2013 in Istanbul, Turkey

The event was dedicated to the discussion of the current state of the ERA.Net RUS project implementation and preparation of a new programme for multilateral S&T&I cooperation of Russia and European countries - ERA.Net RUS Plus.
Representatives of the Joint Call Secretariat presented information about current state of the ERA.Net RUS project implementation and also clarified present situation concerning the preparation stage of the ERA.Net RUS Plus programme.
External monitoring expert of the European Commission Yuri Melnikov presented his final monitoring report on ERA.Net RUS call. It was pointed out that quality level of the implementation of the Pilot Joint Calls is definitely high and adequate to the objectives of the ERA.Net RUS project.
In addition, expert Uwe Meyer from the European Commission presented the analytical data on scientific and technological cooperation between Russia and the EU under the 7th Framework Programme, including the assessment and recommendations of the European Commission to further enhancing of the scientific and technological cooperation between Russia and European countries.
Ilter Haliloglu, representative of the "TUBITAK", outlined the basic principles of cooperation between EU and Russia and the action plan associated with the preparation and implementation of the ERA.Net RUS Plus Call.
Presentation of the European Commission representative Jurgen Sanders, Directorate General for Research and Innovation, was dedicated to the discussion of the Article 185 (Article 185 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, TFEU) providing participation of the third countries, including Russia, in the ERA. NET projects on a permanent basis.
Programs for ERA.NET Joint Calls have available budget of about 200 million euro, and Russia is invited to participate more actively in the ERA.NET programs.
Representatives of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Department for Multilateral Scientific Cooperation with European Countries, Vladimir Eryomin and Pavel Dushin also took part in the workshop as Joint Call Secretariat delegates.
